Your Pink Floyd set list for Live 8? |
|
At Live Aid, bands played sets that were only about 20 minutes each. Since the event itself was the headliner rather than any one artist/band, nobody got a longer set. I believe there might be fewer bands playing this time than at the original show. So let's assume that each band gets a set of about 45 minutes this time.
What would you like to hear Pink Floyd play in a 45 minute set?
Here's my list
Run Like Hell Money Fearless Have a Cigar Shine On You Crazy Diamond See Emily Play Wish You Were Here Comfortably Numb

I would squeeze in "Learning to Fly" somewhere. I love that Gilmour solo. I have been working on getting it right for years now.

3. "Us and Them" would be pretty appropriate for the occasion |
|
IMHO. I like the rest of your list apart from "Money" - I've never seen the appeal of that track.

I'm not a huge fan of the 80s/90s Floyd, but I love the somewhat recent live version of that one.

6. You think Waters would play it? That would be a miracle in itself. |
|
If they were going to include any of the Gilmour solo material posing as Pink Floyd stuff, it would probably be "On The Turning Away", which would lyrically fit the event. It's also about the only Fake Floyd song I can stand.

Otherwise, I'd gladly go. These are the moments where I have that split-second thought of "What if I didn't have a child?"
Then I get over it.
