Desperately in need of topic ideas for phone call

I recently broke up with someone but we are still (supposed to be) friends. I miss him badly, and want to call, but don't know what to say. Can anyone help me out here? I'm too embarassed to ask people I know.

On edit: I know, its stupid but we never were able to communicate well, especially by phone. We were both shy. Hence, the breakup.

1. Did you break up with him?

Or he with you? If it's the latter, don't call. You will just prolong your agony. If it was you, call and tell him exactly what you just said.

Edited to add: If you didn't communicate well before, it's unlikely that you will now and a relationship where you can't communicate well is one pretty much doomed to failure.

Can't go wrong discussing movies or music either.
