2. Better yet
Let's convince Floyd to bring this show to the states. They'd sell out every city in about 2 minutes.

3. My Buddy called me up and told me Floyd was playing...
we giggled hysterically for an hour. What's even better, he has a 8 year old son who ADORES Floyd and burst into tears when he heard that it was in London and he would not be able to go :(

I bravely volunteer to go to London for Pink Floyd.

4. I remember back in 1994 I was a a junior in high school
and Pink Floyd was touring and was in Des Moines, IA. This girl that I was madly in love with and actually went to the junior prom with me (but only as "friends" - oh the pain) was going to the concert with her family... I remember feeling so pained because I wanted to go so badly and especially with her. Oh, the memories.

P.S. I love how you play to the "white guilt" of many of us bleeding heart liberals by mentioning your race. (joking, of course)

14. I saw that show in Denver...
At the time I was working at a record store and got free tickets (I was the only Floyd fan there, as the rest of the kids I worked with were diehard metalheads). During Hey You, I wept. No kidding.

I went with my then girlfriend, who was more of a Lilith Fair type. After the show, I asked here if she enjoyed it. She said, "It's was Okay".

She had a knack for Understatement.

7. I really think of them as two bands...
the one with Roger Waters and the other without Roger Waters, I like both but obviously the former is the better. It's kind of similar to Van Halen RE: with David Lee/without David Lee Roth. But I the "two" Van Halen bands are more evenly matched in whose the better band.

17. Yes! Happy Day!
I hadn't heard that until now!
Now only if they could get Syd Barrett to end his 40- year acid trip and come out of seclusion...

11. My wife finds Floyd "Terribly depressing and scary"
which is yet another reason why I need to drag her to this show.

19. I saw Floyd in the 80's...I think
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 02:18 PM by johnnie
They played an outdoor stadium here and I decided to drop a bit of lysergic acid diethylamide. In the middle of the show we had a horrible thunderstorm and they almost called the concert. All at once the rain stopped and Floyd came back on. Gilmore said something to the effect that "When Cleveland wants a concert..they really want a concert".
The second half of the show was played with Floyd's light show accented by the lightning behind them all night. It was a wild and unforgettable show. One of the best concerts I have ever seen. Floyd, lightning and tripping. What a night..lol.
