Roger Waters left Pink Floyd in the mid-1980s to pursue a solo career
Veteran rock band Pink Floyd have been added to the list of acts appearing at next month's Live 8 concert in London.

Roger Waters will be reunited with band-members Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright for the show.

The show, organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to help fight African poverty, is one of five taking place around the world on July 2.

Meanwhile, pop fans have until midnight to apply for tickets for the concert at Hyde Park.

People wanting tickets have to text the answer to a multi-choice question to be in with a chance of winning one of 75,000 pairs of tickets.

The winning tickets will be drawn at random by computer.

This is a dream come true for me. I love Pink Floyd's music.

It was an absolutely amazing show, and I would love to see the entire band reunited again. It is kind of interesting because just yesterday I was telling my friend that it would never happen, and now it will for at least one show. Please let there be a tour.

3. I have seen Pink Floyd live - it is a show worth watching

totally differen't than a show focused on "stars" - with PF you hardly notice the band and focus on the whole art experience they create with the AV equipment and other props.

Though Waters may be a champagne socialist, his material is truly insightful and Pink Floyd have been the voice of those who are not taken in by the lies of the last 50 years and the neo-liberal propaganda..

when I saw Pink Floyd in Earl's Court in London, the biggest cheer of the night was for the visuals of Thatcher and Reagan walking together on the White house lawn to the lyric "the lunatic is on the grass"

in spite of the trashing by many now-forgotten bad punk bands of the 1970's, their lyrics and music are still revolutionary while the supposedly radical new wave sounds cliched, dated and ... boring.

of course what would bring a tear to the eyes of all fans of the Floyd is if Syd Barrett was to do a spot on stage. Surely no person has ever dominated a band's creativity nearly 40 years after their departure.

the best album ever made happens to be an anti-war, anti-globalization concept album: Amused to Death. it is eerie how timely and timeless this album is (it was made in 1992, yet the concept mirrors exactly what's happening today). if only it had the PF name attached to it, it would have sold 10 million copies, easily. i highly recommend getting this album, now.

28. That is a great album that many overlook

I actually think Amused to Death may well be Roger Waters greatest work, even better than his work with Pink Floyd in many regards. It is too bad that so many people have never heard it, because you are right the lyrics fit in very well with what is going on today.

My favorite song on the album is "The Bravery of Being Out of Range". Here are some lyrics from the song that really hit home.

Sir turn up the TV sound
The war has started on the ground
Just love those laser guided bombs
They're really great for righting wrongs
You hit the target

There are so many other great lyrics on the album I wish I could list them all, but I would suggest that everyone just go out and buy it. You will not be disappointed.

I have waited 18 FUCKING YEARS for this moment since I saw Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason show and Waters' Radio K.A.O.S. show on the same month back in September 1987! The circle is now complete!

DO NOT let this be it! Please, Please, PRETTY Please Tour the US. I'll pay anything to see the greatest band of ALL TIME!!!!

I would love to hear them play Darkside of the Moon in it's entirity. Of course it would also be great to hear "Wish You Were Here" "Comfortably Numb" and at least a couple of their instrumental tracks. Just the thought of them reuniting is good though, no matter what songs they choose though I am sure it will be an amazing show. I only wish I could go.

32. I've seen Pink Floyd live

My kids were complaining about the house next door playing their stereo too loud. It was the Pink Floyd concert three miles away shaking the city. (no I couldn't afford tickets for everybody - I was lucky to get the one ticket as it was).

Absolutely amazing stage show. I can't even really say "stage show" because there was stuff going on overhead and at the back and surround sound.
