So far, from the picture threads, it sure does look like all the men are handsome, all the women beautiful and all the children above average!

Age does take its toll.
And that really pisses me off.

20. Nah. Just a rainy day. In spite of all the CNN hype.
Saturday morning they even started calling/labeling it "Hurricane" Arlene.
"Expected to go to hurricane strength before it makes landfall."
Wooooo
Poor babies.
They were soooo disappointed.

24. More than "just a rainy day,"...
...thanks to the wind (which NEVER blows in Mobile in the summer) and the other meteorological conditions, we had a damn pleasant day. The high was 15 degrees lower than normal and even the rain wasn't very hard.

Normally, our quick afternoon showers temporarily cool things off, but eventually have the effect of making "the great outdoor sauna" even more oppressive.

I wish we could have an Arlene a few times a week.

17. Hi, trof....I remember looking at your picture on that Navy website;
and yes, you were handsome! VERY...But I'll just bet you're still turning heads, my dear...I'd love to see an updated photo, if you can post one.

It's true that age takes its toll...so does death...I'd rather be alive and aging, than dead, any day...I feel the same way about you, and many DU'ers...

Did you tell a story about being in London when a couple of boys on bikes were terrorizing the pedestrians, and the story-teller caught one of them, and sent him skidding and falling off his bicycle? I thought it was you, but if not, I'm sorry!

34. That's OK, I've seen a bag of wet mice, so you don't
have to show me one.

Does your BF use my all-time favorite "country" expression (first I heard it was when Rodney Dillard said it): "Slicker than deer guts on a doorknob?"

That one just about sums up the situation, doesn't it?

Hey, didn't you go to Texas or someplace? How was your trip?

21. That depends on what intelligence you're measuring.
Everyone has a different skillset. Some people can take tools and wood and make a masterpiece with their hands. Others can build a car engine good enough to win Daytona. Others still are good at helping people through their personal problems.
The book,"Seven Kinds of Smart" covers this well.
Being intelligent depends on your frame of reference.

My IQ test indicates I'm above average, but the fact that I'm trolling DU instead of doing the transcription that I need to have done by tomorrow would indicate I'm a bit on the dumb side, so I split the difference.
