I was hiking over this little bridge on a wildlife preserve and saw the fish swim under, so I naturally looked at the other side of the bridge to see him come out.
Instead of the fish, I saw the watersnake come out who had been camped out under the bridge waiting for her dinner :).
She just sat there in the sun gulping down her dinner :)

4. Snakes have it made. None of that time consuming preparation! |
|
Neat pics but I think I'll delay dinner now.

That is cool, though. :) I would be too scared to get near enough to take his picture.

18. I wasn't that close. I was at least 5 feet or so away. |
|
These snakes are relatively harmless :)

at the same park I was at a week ago until you said you just snapped those. I saw the exact same thing at a park in Virginia. It was a copperhead with a fish. Is that a copperhead? I can't tell. It doesn't appear to be, but I am by no means a snake expert!

17. Nope, not a copperhead, just a plain old northern watersnake :) |
|
The fish is a pickerel :).
