I've seen Revenge of the Sith six times and
find myself becoming more into Star Wars with each viewing.

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi you're my only hope!

1. It is a really good movie.
I've seen it twice and may go back once more before it leaves town.

2. I know. I thought I'd like it less with each viewing but find
myself liking it MORE each time I see it....I will probably see it again next weekend with a couple of friends, one of whom has not yet seen it.

I ordered the original trilogy radio show on Amazon.com and can't wait until it arrives!

I feel like I am 13 years old again.

3. I want to see it again in the theater.
We'll buy it when it's released on DVD, but nothing can compare to the big screen experience.

I just re-watched The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi this weekend.

4. I have a portable DVD player and I listen to a Star
Wars movie at least once a day at work.

I love Empire Strikes Back!

5. I've seen it twice, and will probably see it once more
Because, as another poster mentioned, seeing Star Wars in the theatre and watching it at home just aren't the same.

6. So right....some movies are meant to be seen
on a very large screen.

I will DEFINITELY buy the DVD the day it comes out.

7. Sick People...
I haven't seen it once and have NO plans to see it at all...

But while we are on the subject, I can understand some fan fanaticism around such things as ST, Dr Who, Final Fantasy, the Simpsons, Tolkein, kung fu movies, ABBA, disco or dozens of other pop culture things, but the SW thing really does seem like pathetic bottom feeding ...

there is NO intellectual content whatsoever,
the plot even spread over 6 movies is razor thin,
virtually no credible 'science' in the science fiction,
the 'good' and 'bad' guys are not even nuisanced,
no developed or interesting characters,
the last three movies, in particular, are directorial and scripting embarassments with no even cutting edge SFX,
any spin-offs, like video games, are considered some of the worst made in the genre,
and the series has always been highlighted by crass marketing and hard-sell product designed to simulate a 'fan' base...

Oh yeah I did saw the first one, as a 13 year old male <--Yes, indeed, that perfect moment in time and space that all other demographic wannabees can only dream about ;-)

Sure I saw it three times that summer and thought it was the greatest thing since slice bread--
I saw the next one, once and was less thrilled and then when the the idiot 'teddy bear' one came out I thought that was perhaps one of the worst movies I had seen--until of course the NEW first one came out..

And that is when I started to question this cultist behaviour regarding Star Wars--SW is shit

RU getting the point? You all better be 13 years old?

11. No, as a matter of fact, I am not thirteen years old.
My 39th birthday is this month, if you must know.

If you don't like Star Wars, it's no skin off my nose, but I can see no reason for you to shit all over others' enthusiasm.

Yes, those who lauded this significant contribution to modern mythology--including Bill Moyers and the late Joseph Campbell--are positively infantile. Many thanks to you.

P.S. "Tolkein?" That's Tolkien, darling.

On edit: Sorry about the darling...I thought you were a teenager.

8. It think ROTS is tied with "A New Hope" as the second best of the series
It's the first one since TESB that actually warrants deconstruction; the script is unusually tight and the performances are, for the most part, intriguing.

And in three short weeks, Ian McDiarmid's Palpatine has managed to claim a spot on the sci-fi villain pantheon.

12. I was impressed by this one..
VAST improvement over Episode's I and II, IMO.

And, I love the originals--saw them on the big screen in '97 during their 30th anniversary showing in theatres, I'm hoping they do that again for the 40th.

13. Maybe that's why I am so excited about this movie...
it is SO much better than Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones....there are things I don't like about the movie but that is more the dialogue between Anakin and Padme...

15. I liked Phantom Menace quite a bit when it was first released.
Now? I think I'll have to move it to the bottom of the list of 6. Revenge Of The Sith ranks pretty high.

17. I thought Phantom Menace blew when I saw it
at midnight opening day...saw it again the same day and thought it blew chunks.

Jake Lloyd (Anakin as a kid) could not act his way out of a paper bag. He was horrible! I thought the podracing segment was an ad for a potential video game and I LOATHED Jar Jar Binks!

My favorite part of Phantom Menace was Liam Neeson as Qui Gon Jinn and the light saber battle between him and Darth Maul.

19. I was quite influenced by Qui- Gon Jinn.
I liked him very much, which influenced my feelings about the movie itself. I also liked the duel with Darth Maul, and I liked the way Obi-Wan avenged Qui-Gon's death.

However, taking the series as a whole, Phantom Menace is the worst of them.

20. Mine is quite different
1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope/Revenge of the Sith (Tie)
3. The Phantom Menace
4. Attack of the Clones
5. Return of the Jedi (the Jabba and Ewok digressions are torturous)

31. I think ROTJ has about 25 minutes of superlative material
The speeder bike chase, the space battle, and, of course, the confrontation between Vader, Luke and Palpatine (which resonates all the more with Episode III; for if Sidious did indeed sire Anakin, then the battle in Jedi could be construed as cross-generational, and entirely familial).

26. Seven times as of this weekend
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 08:50 PM by Neo
It truly gets better each time.

For the seventh time I saw it in an old theater from the 80's. It was in 2.0 Stereo, Dirty unfocused video, I can hear the projector running, Real dark and it smelled. It was just like seeing Star Wars in the 70's. Too Cool!

oh my ratings:

1. ANH
2. ROTS
3. ESB
4. ROTJ
5. ATOC
6. TFM
