2nd Emergency vet visit for kitty today, this time she's staying
at least overnight at our regular vets. Poor Sammy, she's in such pain and totally freaking out. If you've ever stepped on a cats tail and they've screech meowed, that's what this poor baby is doing if we touch her, if she tries to potty, even sometimes if we just talk to her. My daughter and I were in tears on our way to the vet. We thought for sure the pain meds the earlier ER vet had injected were going to help.

Our vet said that he feels something else may be going on. He has ruled out a deadly thrombosis. He said she actually has hip displasia on one side, not minor arthritis. Luckily we took not only the ex-rays from earlier, but their med sheet as well. He said they gave a more powerful dose of sedative..that cats especially will react as hypersensitive and it will be another 12 hours (from 9:00pm) before it fully wears off. I'm ticked, the ER place could have warned us. He also said the pain meds were a cortisone type that won't even begin to take effect until sometime tomorrow.

Please say a prayer for Samantha. She's a dear little kitty.

3. I'm so sorry.
It is horrific to have to see an animal suffer.

I hope you don't mind me saying this, but, if it turns out they can't get her past this pain, please consider putting her to sleep sooner rather than later. It's just not fair to her to have her suffer so horribly. But ... I hope they can ease her pain.

4. I have been trying to prepare my daughter,
she's having a rough time and we're both worried because her 6 yr old daughter doesn't know Sammy's sick. In one way, we're lucky that she's been at her Dad's this weekend and hasn't witnessed Sammy's screams, on the other hand, when she comes home tomorrow night, we fear kitty may not be here.

This day has been awful, I've had cats my entire life and have never seen anything like this.
