Just got it out of the freezer.
It's frigging hot here. Thought I left the heat behind when I moved out of Texas.
What's your favorite hot weather drink?

1. Green tea slushie sounds great. How do you make it? |
|
I like rhubarb punch sometimes in hot weather. Slshie lemonade too.

2. Easiest thing in the world |
|
Just grabbed a bottle of Lipton's Green Tea with Citrus and popped it in the freezer for an hour. Lemonade works great too.
You can also put some vodka in it, if you're so inclined.

3. Ah, just semi frozen tea? |
|
Suppose it's OK if I brew my own and freeze it? ;)
I like raspberry sun tea in summer too. REAL raspberry leaves (from health food store or herbal supplier over the net) have a slight muscle relaxing effect which is good for my back. I would not recommend that artificially flavored crap.
REAL raspberry tea is incredibly refreshing and relaxing. Good for hot afternoons/evenings cuz it won't wire you.

5. Absolutely! The trick is to nail down the freeze time |
|
Otherwise you end up with a mess in the freezer. Don't forget to take it out!
Raspberry leaves? Never thought of that! I have raspberries growing in my back yard. How do you prepare it?

8. Toss a good handfull of dried leaves into a gallon jar, add H2O and set |
|
in the sunshine to brew up just like suntea. A little sweetner (I use splenda rather than sugar), just a little, and it is very refreshing.
If you have the plants, you are lucky. I would harvest the leaves in fall and let them dry then crumble, store them> I have to get mine online from the place I like to get my culinary herbs/seasonings in bulk as I live sorta off the beaten path.

4. If it's non-alcoholic... |
|
then I like a nice cool glass of lemonade. If it's alcoholic, I like a nice cool beer. Although today I was drinking frozen rum runners and they were pretty damn good...but you gotta watch or they will sneak up and kick your ass!

I like Labatt in the big oil cans.
The rum runners sound interesting. How do you make them?

7. I've been big on the Sam Adams Summer brew... |
|
as for the rum runners I actually just had to look up all the ingredients, the bartender was pouring a bunch of stuff in the blender and I knew if I drank too many of those...it would mess me up. Personally I liked this drink more than a daiquiri because it wasn't as sweet
# 1 oz. Rum # 1/2 oz. each: Blackberry Brandy & Creme de Banana # Splash of Pineapple juice & Orange juice # Dash of Grenadine # Shake & serve on the rocks in tall glass # Serve in a Tiki or tall decorative glass # Float a bit of Myers or Dark Rum on top # Garnish with a flag (orange slice & a cherry skewered)
