1. That is one classic rock band I wouldn't mind seeing....
All of the other big classic rock bands had these other elements that lent them their appeal in addition to the music. Zeppelin, the Stones, the Who, etc. all had that swagger and bravado and performance aspect to them which was as big a part of their allure as the music. Love it or hate it, Pink Floyd was almost always about the art itself. Yeah, they had things like the Wall movie, etc. but the point is that it's embarrassing to me seeing dudes in their 50's perform songs or whatever that are partly rooted in the rebelliousness of youth and end up looking stupid but since the music and art was the main and sole focus of Pink Floyd it wouldn't make me cringe to see them perform their stuff as middle aged guys as much as it would those other bands.

4. *ahem*
I just payed $450 for 4 tickets - each - to see the Stones. They still are astounding musicians, which is what it's about, for me. But these sort of things are more than just concerts anymore, they're Big Events. It's a great excuse for us, as a group of friends, to pillage and sack Toronto. Our raping days are behind us; we've learned our lessons.

I'd do the same for Floyd, too. Especially if they could get Van Morrison to tour with them.

5. Hey, to each their own....
I still love the Stones music. Same with Zeppelin, the Who, etc. To me a big part of rock and roll goes beyond just the music though. I know it's silly and most people don't feel that way, but I listen to a lot of stuff that is contextual. There are albums which were just monumental to my life that I can't listen to any more because of certain contexts and connotations. It may be silly but it's the way I am. My only context for Pink Floyd is the music so....
