I spent Saturday night conversing with a hummer driver
I'm down at the lake w/the family and in-laws and they all go to bed about 11pm, so I decide to go for a walk to see what's going on around the marina. I go up to the parking lot to make sure I locked the truck and this guy comes out while I'm there. He heads over and gets something out of the hummer thats been parked a few spaces over from me since Fri. I'm about 3/4 hammered by this time and decided to go talk him. I only know 1 other person that driver one and he is a complete fucking idiot, really fun, generous guy- but stupid. This guy was very similar, nice guy, apolitical as far as I could tell but a complete dumb shit. I'm interested to know how a mid-20's guy gets the money for a new hummer and 60k boat, so I walk on down to his girlfriends dad's houseboat to continue our conversation. Well he tells me he is a developer in Indiana, and goes on about his divorce and 8400 sq.ft. house (That his wife is getting) and he's probably just going to file bankruptcy so he can get out of debt and not have to sell any of his stuff. What the hell kind of mentality is that? Rack up mega-debt then file bankruptcy and keep all your stuff? Unfortunately, if he has a good lawyer, he'll probably be able to make it happen just that way. What the hell do we do with people like this?
