I have a lot of respect for Michael - or at least, did. Now it's mostly pity and sadness for a man of such incredible talent who's basically gone insane. He's not really my style of music at all, but even though he works in the pop genre he was always much more than a mere pop star. He was a true artist who just happened to do pop music - and his music is quite intelligent and well done.

But now all the abuse and sadness and fucked-upness of his childhood is catching up with him and slowly but surely burying him and sending into the abyss of being a young has-been, eventually to be a laughinstock, to be remembered with derision for his life post-mental-ilness, instead of remembered with applause and acclaim for his artistic achievements.

21. Eh! It's all such a great distraction

away from the real shit that's going on. We've had Scott Petersen, Robert Blake, OJ and new MJ. It's all so wonderful isn't it, that our minds are so preoccupied with some of the stupidest shit on the planet.

Many people in our world--particularly in our own country--can answer innumerable trivial factoids about any of the sensationalistic crap that we hear about every day. People know everything about such idiotic people as Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Anna Nicole Smith, MJ, OJ, Bennifer, Tom Cruise, and all these other "celebrities." You know why they're celebrities? Because people can't get it into their heads that these people are just PEOPLE and have to shit and piss the same as the rest of us do. They create them into media gods and once they're at the top, they're emulated like gods. Enough is enough. I think we're being screwed into a nation of babbling idiots by some very powerful people who know that the IQ level of people here is shrinking every single time a new trial or other waste of time is launched.
