In the past ten years, I've not been as excited as I am about the concert.

You guys know I'm taking my son to see Def Leppard in concert in N.O. next month.

Well, last night I purchased two t-shirts from this year's tour. They are Raven Drum Foundation tees. Raven is Rick Allen's foundation that helps poor children have opportunities to experience music. It felt great to be able to buy a shirt to wear to the concert and to contribute to Raven Drum Foundation.

Here is a link to Raven Drum Foundation: http://www.ravendrumfoundation.org/

Here's the shirt:

2. In the eighties, I was into the harder music...
but I think Def Leppard will be the PERFECT concert to give my son his first concert experience.

I just added the pic of the shirt. :hi:

4. Sounds like fun, Maddy!
I had a D.L. shirt like that about 20 years ago.

It's nice to read about Rick Allen's music foundation. I always admired him for continuing to play drums after his accident.

7. Thanks!
Do you have the pyromania tee? Damn, I'd love to have one of those!

Yeah, I think Rick Allen will be a cool hero for my son. He's already in awe of his ability to play the drums one-handed.

:hi: Where da hell have you been? I've been missing you posting!

15. Hi, Maddy!
Unfortunately I no longer have my pyromania tee shirt. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of it!

I've been very busy with school and only get a chance to "stop in" every now and then. I have another complicated (at least to me) class this summer -- immunohematology (blood bank). I am learning how to type and cross match blood, among other things.

I am also going to DemFest in Austin this coming weekend!!! :bounce: :woohoo:

So how have you been? back atcha!

6. I just looked at their tour schedule
and saw that they're all around the midwest too. I hope I can get to one of those shows.

first row, off to the right of the stage. Woohoo!!

13. Cool.
I like sitting above the floor in arenas, for sporing events and concerts. The view is so much better.

17. My kiddo's only 11. I used to love being at the front of the floor...
right up in the security guards' faces. I caught many a pick and touched many a rock star that way.

I also had to be handed over the rail several times, as I was being crushed by the people behind me.

Maybe one day we'll stand on the floor. This time, though, we have seats with a great view of the stage.

14. Rock on, Maddy!
You and your son are going to have a great time. Make sure you buy a couple of Bic lighters to wave in the air. Wouldn't be an arena rock show without 'em, and the Lepsters have some worthy power ballads.

We bought them at lowes. They self illuminate. So, yeah, we'll be waving those! :D

16. You're wearing the band t-shirt to the concert?
hmm...classic uncool no-no. Your son may be embarrassed. Of course, maybe the Def Leppard crowd is too far gone from being cool anymore to even pick up on that. ;)

19. Actually, my son wants to wear his Black Crowes Tee...
and I want to wear my Sex Pistols tee.

Uncool? I'm 40. I could hardly give a shit about being cool anymore. And to me, that makes me cooler than all of the people who follow the "cool rules." :D
