Hey DC DUers: Wanna get together Thursday afternoon/evening? |
|
The DSM rally is happening at 5pm on Thursday at Layfayette Park. I don't have to catch a plane home until 10pm. Inner'sted?

1. East Coast, East Coast, East Coast. |
|
All you ever talk about is the East Coast. Or California.
Why don't you visit the South so that we can have an occasion for a meet-up down here?
I'm so friggin' jealous. We never have meet ups in the south.

6. It's a bit of a haul... |
|
from Austin to Biloxi. But you never know.
And honestly, meetups don't have to be a really big deal. Yes, we have had a couple of really big ones down here...but the Austin crew gets together just to have brunch about once a month...usually between 4 and 6 of us. I highly endorse meeting every DUer you can as often as you can. :)

9. Thanks for the advice. |

Next time you guys have a big meet-up, I'm going to do my best to drive over. I live about eight hours from Austin. :D
And, the next time I visit Biloxi, I'm going to meet merh for a couple of drinks and an oyster po-boy. :D
I really want to meet some of you rowdy Texans...I am a native Texan who has lived in Texas, off and on, all of my life. Born in San Antone, and have lived around the east part of the state...Longview, Port Arthur, Tatum, Gladewater.

I grew up in Greenville. We used to compete against Longview in band competitions. :hi:

Longview is a pretty nice town. I got engaged at the Beer Barn on Hwy. 80.
I can tell y'all some funny stories about my time in Longview. :D

14. Yes, a drive thru. You drive up to the window of a train car... |
|
and they hand you a cup of draft. My ex and I spent a great part of our marriage there. :D
He proposed to me on the roll bar of my Renegade after I kicked his ass at horseshoes...they also have two horseshoe pits behind the beer barn. :D

I believe I've ever heard. Sounds like a great short story. :)
No Beer Barn in Greenville. It's dry. I still can't quite cope with the concept of drive-through liquor store.

10. If you come to Alabama, you'd damned well better send me a PM. |
|
I'll drive to hang out with DUers in Alabama if there's a meet-up.
So, let me know, and we'll try to get something going.

16. I just came back from a red state road trip. |
|
(Sorry, this is kind of off topic.)
I'm interested in hearing more about your red state road trip plans. I just got back from a 12 day, 5678 mile, road trip through West Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and Virginia. I loved every minute of it. Where are you planning to go?

18. Suggestion for meeting up. |
|
How about DC are DUERs getting together at Old Ebbitt's Grill at say 4:00pm before the rally? Or some other land mark in Lafayette Square?

19. I could do something after 6:00. |
|
I'm in the salt mines until 6:00, but Lafayette Square is a hop, skip, and a jump for me.
And aren't DUers too poor to go to the Old Ebbitt Grill? :-)
