1. Have you installed the patches for Far Cry? |
|
I haven't played that game in a LONG time, but if I recall there were some problems with it initially.
I'd make sure I had the latest video drivers, the lated direct x and the latest patches for the game installed.

3. You've got it set for a hotter rig than you're running. |
|
I had the same problem, even though I'm running an AMD 64 with a 256k video card and more memory than the state of Connecticut.
Change your game settings from high to medium. The resolution, etc doesn't really suffer, and the game should run fine.
I know a fella with a fully built Alienware set up that couldn't do Far Cry on the top setting. He was pissed.

4. Far Cry runs fine on High for me |
|
P4 3.0GHz, 512MB RAM and a 256MB Radeon 9600 Pro video card. I was surprised it could handle high, but I haven't had any trouble.

GB galore. The game allows me to choose settings, it loads, and then shows me a picture of a pistol pointed at the sky, and it just freezes. Although I CAN hear audio.
Random.
