California juries are now like Southern juries in the 1950's. |
|
Racists routinely walked out of courtrooms as free men in the pre-civil rights era South. Now, celebrity defendants are avoiding conviction in California. Any thoughts, and I don't many harm Calif. DU'ers but this kind of shit makes your state almost as big of a joke as Florida, sorry Sunshine State!

2. Bullshit. There is no comparison. |

Racists were freed because of all white juries. MJ and OJ were freed due to tainted evidence, over zealous DA's and crappy prosecutors.

I think this is a money thing. Anyone who can afford millions for lawyers can get off. It has been that way for quite a while. Ask Klaus Von Bulow.

Whatever our personal feelings about Jackson, the jury made their decision based on the merits of the case, and not *their* personal feelings or prejudices. They did exactly what a jury is supposed to do, which is completely opposite of what white southern juries did not so long ago.
Only Jackson, the children, and other parties privy to the Neverland sleepovers truly know what happened. But in the case he was tried for, the prosecutors failed to make a case that proved his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. This jury knew what its responsibility was. Celebrity and race were trumped by a fair jury this round.
