Well, like the title of the topic states, I'm seriously considering starting a career as a real estate agent (in AZ). Is anyone on here an agent (in any state)? If you are, do you have any tips for a young pup getting started- it would be greatly appreciated.
I have all summer to take the classes and get my license. I start my masters degree program in the fall and would like to have a full time job that is a little flexible so I could do both at once. All the other jobs I've looked at are 9-5 set it stone, so I'd have to go to school part time and take 4 years to get a degree that should take 2, that's why I thought about real estate.
Thanks in advance for any help/ tips.

after taking all of the courses. I worked for Century 21 and failed miserably.
I had a big problem "selling" things and was inclined to tell the truth as I saw it, or could not spin any questions having to do with the truth. I could not sex up the good points. Just not a "natural" at selling.
I was good at getting information from contacts and clients, though. For some reason they felt confident enough to tell me many details of the personal aspects of their life. Which got me nowhere and put no food on the table.
I went back to nursing after a short period.
I hope if you have the talent, that it would work out for you better than it did for me.

I think I can do it. I understand that this is a "feast or famine" business, thankfully my girlfriend makes some good money. I've told myself that if I can't do it in 6 months I'll get out and try something else.
