I have an invitation to the President's dinner tonight |
|
For some reason the Republicans think I'm one of them and for the second year in a row now they've sent me an invitation to the President's appreciation dinner. For $2,500 a plate I can fawn over Bush for a few hours over filet mignon.
These are from my "special letters" from Dick Cheney and Bill Frist:
"Will you attend? for one night, will you accept the honor you so richly deserve and the deep appreciation of your Republican Party?...But as usual, the Democrats here in in Washington, D.C. are doing everything in their power to defeat the President's agenda -- despite the President's overwhelming victory in the 2004 election and solid Republican gains in both houses of Congress."
"That night will give President Bush a chance to personally thank you for your work in our 2004 re-election campaign, for helping elect Republican Majorities in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate and for making the Republican Part America's Majority Party.
I'll have to think about it.

"Carl Forti, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, which is co-hosting the dinner, had no qualms about Carey and her boss, adult film executive Mark Kulkis, attending.
"Their money was donated to the NRCC. The NRCC's job is to elect Republicans. We'll take that money and use it to elect more Republicans," Forti said."
So if they gave us money, the fact that they have sex on camera that *gulp* the children could see, doesn't matter?
Where are the family values?

6. That kind of talk fires up their base. |
|
And as far as their base is concerned, the GOP victory was overwhelming.
