Poll question: What do you think is the worst deadly sin?
I'm going with envy, although it and gluttony are crucial to Capitalism..

6. I'm going w/ greed
The others to me seem to be forms of greed.

Pride is a greediness over status, gluttony a greediness over material things, envy a greediness over other people's attributes/possessions...and on and on..

7. Aren't some of these
really the "same"?

Greed::Envy::Lust::Gluttony

Anger is just cause you're all greedy and envious and you ain't got it. Sloth is those too lazy to work for all that stuff you're envious about.

Pride? Now, I'm one of those that believes, when you're Pride goes - you fall! False pride, now - that's a whole 'nother thing.

8. Great medieval history book called "Pride goeth before Avarice."
In the earlier Middle Ages, when everything was a subsistence/barter economy, Pride was considered the root of all sins. Pride caused a person to think he was better than another, and that was the cause of on person hurting another, or stealing, or whatever. Pride made you better than God, even, able to interpret right and wrong better than God. That was Adam's and Eve's real sin: Pride, because they disobeyed God to gain his knowledge of good and evil.

Around the twelfth century the economy of Europe had become a money economy, and after this, Avarice became the deadliest sin. It was then money, or the desire for someone else's property, which caused most of the pain in world.

So take your pick: Did Bush's invasion and slaughter reveal Pride, or Avarice, in greater amounts?
