I lost my mother tonight

After a 2 month struggle with pneumonia after breaking her hip.
She made her home with me for the last 10 years.
God my house is gonna be empty for a long long time. Not to mention
my heart. She was 90 but no other words than just a complete
joy everyday.

from everything to her Irish folklore to all her goofy little rhymes
she had taught me then my daughter.
She was a remarkable woman, strong and very giving. She made the
best meatballs I had ever eaten for someone Irish.
She spent 30 years in the Hospital as a Ward Clerk. She worked
many years for the Election board. She hated George Bush and
rallied for Kerry.
I guess one of my favorite stories is the day she dressed me for
my halloween party at school on the wrong day. Good thing she
dressed me for the part....a Clown!

How lucky you were to have such a wonderful, loving relationship, and have her live with you for the last 10 years! That in itself, is quite a gift to you. Think of the memories you now have, and will cherish for the rest of your life. Surely you were such a blessing to her too, in ministering to her needs during these last few months. That was your gift to her!
