Sign of the times
Edited on Wed Jun-15-05 08:25 AM by warrior1
Morning in Sacramento. 5:39 I just heard a squeal outside. I peeked and saw a blond woman poking through my recycle bin (Today's garbage day).

What not so strange? I could see that on her passenger side door she had those ribbons of support for bush and the troops.

Makes you go hmm.

Side-bar: She could be looking for my id numbers (I shred everything) or cans and bottles. Again things I do not have.

2. Maybe you could leave her a note or something
"Voted for bush, didn'tcha? This is your fault. Welcome to hell."

Or something to that effect.

I give the whole thing a weirdness coefficient of 7.75.

3. yeah yeah yeah
It's a sign of the times
That your love for me is getting so much stronger
It's a sign of the times
And I know that I won't have to wait much longer
You've changed a lot somehow from the one I used to know-oh-oh
For when you hold me now it feels like you never want to let me go

It's a sign of the times
That you call me up whenever you feel lonely
It's a sign of the times
That you tell your friends that I'm your one and only
I'll never understand the way you treated me-ee-ee
But when I hold your hand I know you couldn't be the way you used to be

CHORUS
Maybe my lucky star at last decided to shine
Maybe somebody knows how long I've waited to make you mine, mm, mm, mm

I'll never understand the way you treated me-ee-ee
But when I hold your hand I know you couldn't be the way you used to be

CHORUS
Maybe my lucky star at last decided to shine
Maybe somebody knows how long I've waited to make you mine, mm, mm, mm

It's a sign of the times
That you kiss me now as if you really mean it
It's a sign of the times
And a year ago I never could have seen it
Don't ever change your mind and take your love away-ay-ay
Just leave the past behind and, baby, only think of how it is today

It's a sign of the ti-imes
It's a sign of the ti-i-i-i-imes
It's a sign of the times
It's a sign of the ti-i-i-i-imes

FADE
It's a sign of the times

4. i posted the same thing 2 weeks ago
we had a good discussion re:people rummaging through recycle bins. it freaks me out a bit. we shread everything too. i'm REALLY torn between just letting it go or making a stink about it with the town.

still haven't decided what (if anything) to do about it.

5. Please explain, why do you "shred everything"?
Do you think this person might be looking for personal information about you?

7. They're called dumpster divers.
The look for personal information so they can steal your identity.

I bought a shredder several years ago after I found one of my own pay-stubs laying in the alley next to my garbage cans. Of course, I live in an area (Chicago near Wrigley Field) that has a fairly high concentration of homeless people going through the trash.

6. Yeah, she may be a Roveian Spy, or just a garbage-picker.

8. yea that's what I meant
Shred anything that has my name, etc., on it.

I just guess I found it strange for someone to be picking thru the garbage. We usually have the dred locks guy come by with his shopping cart, him I don't mind.
