Hey, what's up with you people picking on Texas? |
|
We have many fine DUers from Texas - if I start naming them I'm sure I'll miss someone. But, there's VelmaD, Bouncy Ball, Skittles, GOPisEvil, and of course my dearly beloved Richardo! :loveya:
So knock it off!! Or I'll knock it off for ya! Okay, I won't really knock it off for ya, but still...

And the reason they do it is because they can. Beating up on Southerners in general and Texans in particular is easier than doing something useful.
I'm so glad all these folks living in states where it's SO much easier to be a liberal have all this time on their hands to tell us how awful we are.

6. Well, I'm not FROM Texas. But I visited there once, around 1984 or so. |
|
Went to Houston - it was nice, as I recall.

8. I think it was in February. There was a rodeo going on in the |
|
Astrodome, so we wandered around looking at cows. Or do you guys call them steer? And I went to Gilley's (did not ride the bull), and we went to the beach in Galveston. And I went to this restaurant on top of a building, and you had to ride an elevator on the OUTSIDE of the building to get there. My fear of heights was complete! It was pretty fun, actually.
I'd go back, but I lost track of my college roommate - she still lives around there somewhere. LaPorte?

9. Ah yes, February is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo |
|
Two weeks of non-stop news stories about the price of bull semen (OK I'm exaggerating - a little).
But it is usually very nice around that time of year.
La Porte is - how shall we say - pretty industrial (that explains why you went to Gilley's; it's close by) in fact our company has a major plant there.
