Minnesota - "Land of 10,000 Lakes".
Ha! Wisconsin has 14,000!!!
Take that!
Don't be bragging about your lakes unless you have the most.

Their name isn't Minnesota, land of the most lakes, so who cares if someone has more lakes that Minnesota - they're just stating that they have 10,000 of em

cause, I don't think we're big enough to have one of our own. I mean, we're pretty used to running down to the cities and all...

And nobody skies anymore, except those kids in Alexandria with their traveling show.
Everybody on Comorant and Detroit Lakes (where I spend time) is banging around on their idijet skis or riding tubes.

|
That definitely beats Wisconsin's 14,00 sewers!

http://www.travelnotes.org/NorthAmerica/minnesota.htmMinnesota has more than 20,000 lakes; the largest within the state is Red Lake in the north.

Then they should call themselves "Land of 20,000 lakes"!
My aunt and uncle had a cabin in northern minnesota in an area where they just numbered the lakes. Didn't even bother to give 'em proper names. Their cabin was on either Lake 9 or Lake 11, I can't remember.

9. The tricky part is defining what makes a "lake." |
|
The DNR says it's 10 acres or larger, which brings the total down to just over 11,000.
I imagine the 20,000 number includes a whole lot of marshes and maybe a few really big parking lot puddles. ;-)

So it looks like we're back to Wisconsin having more than Minnesota.

12. We have so many lakes they are still counting them |
|
Some say 12,000, same say:
15,291 - more shoreline than California, Florida and Hawaii combined
and I've also seen the number 20,000 thrown about, which just proves it!

Hah! Yes sir, I say Hah. Manitoba has 100,000 lakes. I actually spent a whole year in grade 10 geography counting and marking all of them. So, again, sir, I say, Hah.
