|
I'll be keeping my neices for their annual summer trip then. We'll definitely drag them out to the Satchmofest for some culture and good times.

We were all sweating. We had to open the windows and turn on fans. At least the office is shaded by huge old trees.
It is really hot this week. And just think, it's not even summer yet! June 21 is the Summer Solstice! :)

|
What a great event that will be! What a wonderful group of speakers!
Mr. CottonBear, daughter and I will be visiting New Orlenas later in the summer in July or August. You know, when it's gonna be REALLY hot! My husband's cousin has a pool and I'm gonna be in it.

Hi BOSSHOG! Stay cool. How's the garden? We have gardenias, daylilies and butterfly bushes blooming here! My giant sunflowers have germinated. I can't wait until they get to be 10 feet tall!
Last night, I was at the horse farm where I board my filly. At 9PM at night it was still hot and steamy. You could actually see the humidity in the air.
Tonight, I will swim in my pool! Cheers! CB

I used to live in Mississippi. This time of year, I'm glad I don't. (But in January when its 70 degrees, or spring when the wildflowers bloom, Mississippi can be very pleasant.)

very next be 74 degrees. It can get irritating! Plus it did get down right cold this year in MS!

26. I was in Starkville, I remember that. |
|
I also remember one year it snowed maybe 5". The students where I taught, Mississippi State, went bananas because many of them were from the Gulf coast and had never actually seen snow before.

and we have not turned on the AC yet. Lots of trees and ceiling fans go a long way. We're not sissies either, having grown up without AC we don't feel it necessary until the night temps are around 80. About 10 weeks a year.
Sure has got the snakes crawling, so I'm happy.

Humidity in MS sucks! But I have to say it is way worse in the Delta, so I am glad I am not there anymore! Humidity is about 50%!

23. California has had strange weather |
|
Today it is supposed to be upto 85, which is probably pretty normal, but we are supposed to have rain tomorrow and friday. We aren't supposed to get rain this late in the year. I'm worried about the crops.

25. What do you mean you aren't supposed to get rain? |
|
It rains whenever it wants to down here. Afternoon showers most days, but they only last about 1/2 an hour or so. Does it only rain in certain seasons or something?

It was 94 here in Northern Indiana the other day. Sucked.
Luckily it isn't like that very often here...unlike in Mississippi.
