Help Me Remember The Title Of A Children's Book...
It was one of my favorites as I was learning to read, and I'd love to give it as a gift (if it's still in print even.)

I don't have any idea who wrote it, but it was from about 1965. The illustrations were all plain B&W line drawings. It was digest-sized (the size of a Dr. Seuss book) and about 20 pages long.

The story was about two kids who had a bunk bed and as they were getting ready for bed (in their PJ's and night-shirts) they would make-believe that it was a pirate ship and have a pretend adventure.

Further in the book they would pretend that their bunk-bed was a rocket ship and they were headed for the Moon. Later on, their imaginations converted their bunk-bed into a covered wagon and they were pioneers trying to escape from the Indians.

Do you remember this one?

I seem to remember a book like that but I can't place the name of it. Was it a weekly reader?

2. I don't know, but if you find it will you let me know?
It sounds good. I'm trying to find a book I read in the 60's about some 10-12yr old kids that built a rocket ship out of junk, and landed on a mushroom? planet. I love a good story.

4. Could it be
Bunk Beds, by Elizabeth Winthrop? That might have been a little bit later, though.

6. Possibly... I Checked Amazon
and the description sounds about right. The title is certainly logical. But it's out of print. --- BUT it's a GREAT starting point and I can see if it's at the library.

Thank you.
