My parents have completely lost their address book from Outlook Express. They don't know how this happened, but they said that Windows updated last night automatically. I'm at their house now trying to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

1. The address book is an file called "wab". Have you done |
|
a file search for all files named "wab"? It may have been moved inadvertently to another location.

3. I wish I could offer some constructive advice |
|
But all I can do is tell you that I have always avoided Outlook Express and address books like the plague. It is too easy to keep E-mail addresses in a word processing or notepad file, and there is little or no danger of a worm virus screwing up all of your friends' computers.
I got a worm once. It was not pretty.

5. I don't use Windows, so I have no idea about the lost address book, but |

maybe you can reconstruct at least a portion of it from old emails from their friends, if they haven't deleted them?
Edit: s/-however/, but/
