1. When the day came in 1889 to make Dakota Territory a state... |
|
Some moron politician said, "Hey, let's split them into TWO states!!!", not knowing that those two halves would never have been able to reach the population potential that one Dakota could've possibly attained.
I like to joke around about South Dakota and all, but in my personal opinion, I wish we were one whole state. We would have around 1,425,000 people, and be around the size and population of New Mexico.

2. "North Dakota. Please don't tell Canada we're down here" |
|
"North Dakota. Hey! We're not square! We're sorta rectangular. with a wavy edge"
The difference between North and South Dakota is more missile silos in ND. And it's on top.

|
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 01:19 AM by LastKnight
opposing factions of Sioux would have been lumped onto the same reservations if it was made one state... and that wouldnt have gone over so well...
that and thiers a few other tribes that are in north dakota that differ from the south dakotan native americans. im not an expert on the subject... but thats about all i know.

6. Does not North Dakota have a slightly greater Democratic edge.? |
|
Seems North Dakota has better luck in electing Congressional Democrats? I know North Dakota had a pretty aggressive Socialist movement at the turn of the 20th century. all those years of wheat farmers being screwed by the monopoly railroads. plus..would not a combined state of Dakota look pretty weird on the map. and 49 states sounds pretty weird..less likely for North Dakota to send impressive Democratic senators. Look at that awful larry Pressler South Dakota sent Congress. they ought to be ashamed... not much better than what Georgia might send.

... has a bad sculpture of dead white politicians carved on sacred Sioux land, which was carved by a Klansman who went on to be a Grand Dragon, or whatever they call their honchos.
True Fact.
