Why must they be so moronic? |
|
My Republitard former roommate (I love the guy, but he's clueless) keeps sending me propaganda. The most recent one he sent me was titled "Starbucks really fucked up this time" The story went on to read that Starbucks had recently responded to a request by Marines for coffee by stating that "Starbucks will not support this illegal war in Iraq and will not support any person participating in it." As if Starbucks as a whole were troop hating communists. Needless to say I "Snopesed" it and it was fake. He had forwarded this garbage to me, all our friends, his family, their friends, people he didn't know etc.
I responded to EVERYONE on the list. I gave them the link and then I said "Why is it that you right wing nut jobs insist on sending me this shit? It is so totally Republican of you to disseminate information without checking its source for veracity, simply because it agrees with your party buzz words. Good Lord."
I haven't heard back from him or his wacko father yet. Probably won't. My question is this:
Why the fuck do they feel the need to do this? We're not stupid.

4. Many of them really don't care if what they're sending is true. |
|
(Not all, but quite a few.) As long as it keeps people supporting the Bush Administration and its agenda, it's OK. To them, the ends justify the means.

5. They really think they know something the rest of us don't get. |
|
They never bother to fact check because as Homer Simpson said once "Those are just facts and you can use facts to prove almost anything you want". They are ignorant and they are oblivious to their ignorance. What's so ironic is they are convinced the rest of us would agree them if only we were as informed as they are.

7. Yeah, he's a piece of work. |
|
He has NONE of his own ideas or theories. He relies upon what Rush and Lars Larson tell him on the radio. That and he votes strictly "Daddy Line". He does not make his own decisions. His father makes them for him. I have questioned his reasoning for his voting persuasions before and he has no answers. He just does it.
He thinks I'm just a cluelss hippy who spent one too many semesters in Oregon. LIke I just don't get it. Funny thing is, he doesn't even know what it is I allegdly don't get.
