Here's a picture of myshelf, or one of my shelves, at least.

(All props for the altar go to my husband. Everything you see was my Christmas '04 gift to him, but he selected and ordered all of it . . . I just paid the bill.)

I am _in love_ with your rattan chair. I spent three years looking for the perfect rattan chair and ottoman for our bedroom balcon (that'll be another dorky copycat thread one day, no doubt) and now wish I'd bought a chair exactly like yours.

I have an inverted wine glass rack almost exactly like yours, too! Mine's from Ikea, though . . . stainless steel and cheap.

10. Hey, Heidi!
You and bridgit could be sisters, I swear!

Thank you for the compliment! That chair was my aunt Louise's. She loved and kept lots of cats. When my father gave me the chair, my little cat Sophie began her daily and relatively unambitious habit of taking it apart, but I think Aunt Louise would have wanted it that way.

I love it that you got the props for your husband and he arranged them. That, to me, is romantic. I love altars of all kinds.

Bridgit is one of my favorite DUers!

(When I said "props," I meant all "accolades" to my husband.)

I love bridgit. She's great-very funny & warm. I saw her posts on a kitten thread last night and we tripped around it! She seems to have a sort of Eastern outlook & taste for art.

Here's one of our bookcases, with my PKD collection

Our CD/DVD/VHS collection in part

The rest of our books and assorted sundry items

My pride and joy! This is my bar-the cabinet I just got at an auction for $22.50. The liquor cost substantially more...

actually I do smoke shisha tobacco (the traditional Egyptian kind) with it occasionally. Much more realxing than a standard pipe, and way better than cigarettes.
Thank you about the swords BTW...

Because of our abundance of books, there's barely enough room for the bed! :hi:

26. Hey, Heidi!
It's good to see you out and about tonight! This room is my 440 sq. foot study; the photo shows most of the south wall. I LOVE my bookcases...

The chair is very comfy, thanks...however, it is a bitch to get out of! The fabric is neither leather nor linen...it's just a cheap fabric, probably poly/cotton or some such...But it is comfy...! I got it at Ikea...and put it together myself. Not bad, huh, esp. for a non-technical person like myself!

I'm heading for bed; it's nearly one in the AM here...See you later!

32. ROTFL
That candle was a Christmas gift (I love Southwestern stuff, particularly cacti). My best friend Paula got that for me one day on her lunch break. Her coworkers were making all sorts of lewd jokes about what she was going to do with it when she got it home. I wonder if the phallic imagery was an intentional joke by the candlemaker.

33. What? No Carl Jung?
I like the William James. I have read several of his books. "The Varieties of Religous Experiences" was a good one, though anti-climatic. He did not endorse any brand of religion or make any direct comments about them. He merely reported on the Varieties of they come in.

There it is, plain as could be. I have some antique James. One book is a first edition called "psychology". It is very intresting take on the subject. Some chapter titles are "vision", "sight", "memory", "Will" and so on.
