Any advice on finding a good technical school? |
|
Our youngest is interested in going to a technical school to learn automotive repair rather that going to college. So many of these schools seem so...sleazy. Any advice on finding a good school?

(even though we just started offering degrees in one of our programs). Some schools are wonderful and some are awful. I've been in this industry for 16 years. Here are some things to look for: *Who is their accrediating agency?- I think this is the most important thing. *Do they offer federal financial aid (if they are a "scam school," chances are they don't qualify and that says a lot). *Get feedback from the students - are they happy? Does the school provide placement assistance? *If you can, meet with an instrustor and get a sense of how they feel about the company and the students (if you can - this can be a bit tricky). Do your homework - go online and find out EVERYTHING you can about the school. There really are some very ethical and credible schools around. On the other hand, some schools want nothing but the financial aid and the students aren't given a quality education. Good luck!
I really need to proofread!!!! Sorry

I'm beginning to figure out that the flashier the advertising, the less likely it is the school is worth pursuing.
