Well, it's official. I'm a Democrat!

I sent in my voter registration today. I live in New Mexico, where every Democrat is a step towards making this a blue state again, and unlike most of our neighbors (I'd say, all, but CO might be an exception), we actually stand a chance in the near future. I'm going to be going to college in Chicago, and I figured a Democrat in New Mexico would make more of a difference than a Dem in Chicago, so I'll be voting absentee for the next four years.

1. Does New Mexico have party registeration?

Like you know, you have a choice with which party. I registered a few weeks back but because Virginia doesnt have it, I didnt register with any party, I think thats a good thing though because its always nice to have the opition to vote in one of the primaries.

Block 6 of the form. You may choose not to register with a party by checking the NO PARTY box. The thing is, there's just a box to write your party in, no choices, so you could, conceivably register as a member of the Holy Royal Conquerors Party of Myselfia or something. I wonder what they'd do with that?

Yeah I kind of like open primaries honestly, I am a yellow dog democrat straight out but I would love to fuck with the republican primaries by "voting" for some extremeist who couldt win when our races arent conetested.

And I don't think she's the only one which is possibly part of the reason we have a Democratic governor there.
