Coldplay: X&Y. Like it or not?
For some reason, I didn't start thinking about getting into them until recently, but I am very tempted to get this album at some point.

1. I like it
I got the CD the day it came out and have listened to the CD over and over and it is an easy listen. This CD has more of a smooth, happy, polished sound to it than past Coldplay stuff. The CD has more radio songs on it than other Coldplay CD's had.

There are a few songs that sound like U2 and a few songs that sound like the song at the end of Fight Club by the Pixies. I haven't listened to the Pixies much, but the song from Fight Club was awesome. The songs that sound like this on the Coldplay CD are my favorites on this CD.

My favorite Coldplay songs are the ones like Spies and Amsterdam. There is nothing on this CD of that sort. I was a little disapointed in that, but I will still gladly listen to X&Y.

2. U2 Junior
Considering how badly U2 sucks, I can't stomach the lite version either. Chances are I won't be buying this CD.

The lead singer Chris Martin has spoke out about Fair Trade and ending poverty. He has even written www.maktradefair.com on his hands for shows, including the MTV music awards a few years back.

Here are 2 articles on him...

There was a special live show on XM radio and during it the host asked Martin about politics. Martin then said that he wants to play a new song called "The Republicans are always right and everyone else it wrong." You could tell it was very sarcastic and it got a lot of laughs.
