Anyone have a cat completely CLING to you?
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 05:09 PM by Champ
My mom's cat, not even mine follows me everywhere!!! Bathroom, upstairs, living room, computer, EVERYWHERE 24/7!!!! Right now this cat is on my lap where he has been for most of the day. He gets in the way so I throw him(not aggressively) just for him to come back running onto my lap. I'm even mean to the cat playfully and he just won't leave me alone. He is worse then any dog I have ever met. I thought you had to EARN a cat's affection? He just completely sold his soul to me the first time I ever met him.

2. Me
And he's getting worse as he gets older. (he's 14) He's always been a little suck, but the last couple of years, he's been glued to my side.

11. what a nice cat!
Hey, it is better to have a cat that is too nice than to have one that hisses and scratches

3. Yes.. and it's always male cats
I have a female and a male. The male is the neediest thing Ive ever seen. He must be right on top of me at all times. Or, walks around screaming. I can throw him off of me 20 times in a row and he will continue to come back. Sometimes I just cannot deal with it and have to shut him in the bathroom so I can get things done.

My SIL just got a male cat, same thing... every male cat owner that Ive ever spoken to that has an inside cat seems to be in the same predictament.

6. My friends cat always clinged to me, and I swear it was part dog
because the thing would constantly lick my face and arms-probably the only cat I ever liked

9. Yeah, especially when they get old,
they become really needy. Mine is 19 years old and just knows, even when he's asleep in another room, when I sit down, and then -poof-, he's instantly in my lap. Within seconds. (It's really phenomenal.)

This from the cat who would not ever sit in my lap when my older cat was still alive. About two weeks after the old cat died, Grover came to reside in my lap on a permanent basis. And he became really talkative. Developed a personality he never had before.

But get this - he's discovered the vacuum cleaner - it's his best friend! This from the cat who previously thought that the sole function of the vacuum cleaner was to torture the cat. I'd turn it on, and he'd go hide under the bed. Then, I bought a used/rebuilt Electrolux and when I turn it on, he's following it around the house, trying to rub up against it, etc. It's like he thinks it's his best friend!

12. My cat just did something interesting
I was looking at the "Gifted and Talented" thread then my cat put his paws on the keys and somehow redirected me back to this thread. :tinfoilhat:

14. I had a little rescue kitty who was like that.
He not only wanted to be on my lap, he would climb up my front so that I'd have to stop what I was doing and hold him.

He had been shot and starved before I took him in. Very affectionate and needy little guy. My girl kitty was always more interested in playing than cuddling, so all that kitty-love was a treat for me.
