how big would a 1000 bottle wine cellar be? |

met a guy at the wine store that said he had one....this was in a very ritzy area so I wouldn't doubt it... but hell I can't imagine how big that might be???

i normally drink my wine quickly enough that storage is never an issue.....but that seems like a lot of bottles...

Figure a six by six by 12 space for each bottle. That would a quarter of a cubic foot per bottle. One thousand bottles, would 250 cubic feet. Double that so you can get around the bottles to get at them, so 500 cubic feet. Figure 6 feet of height (none right on the floor and none over 7 feet above the floor), that would mean just under 100 sq feet of floor space. After all the supposing and guessing about a space 10' by 10'.
Just a guess though ...
