Batman Begins, baby!
Shady: And midway through 2005, DC puts out its best offering in years, though even with a masterpiece like this one, it'll be hard for them to come bace from the Batman & Robin debacle of 1998.

Mickey: That's right! And with a well-done Spider-Man 2 last year, both of the X-Men movies having done well, and some glimmers of competence in the Blade series, Marvel can afford a grounder with this summer's Fantastic Four--even with stinkers like Daredevil and Elektra.

Shady: Too true. Batman started strong, but suffered as the series progressed; Superman had two half-decent movies, and then fell completely apart. Superman IV was particularly appalling.

Mickey: Yes; when I first saw that movie, I puked so much they threw me out of the theater.

Shady: Too much information.

Mickey: Bah.

Shady: DC, however, has an advantage in that a relaunch of their Superman movie series should be coming out soon, and that there are as many negative rumors as positive surrounding X3. If Superman makes a strong showing, and X3 is mediocre, they might even be able to take the lead in the race.

Mickey: Indeed. Once again, folks, Batman Begins, a powerful play by the folks at DC Comics.
