HELP!!!! - I just found a handgun & extra clip on the street |
|
I was walking home from the bar (very many beers in me) and saw a clip on the ground. A couple of paces later i found a pistol (Model JS-9mm; Stallard Arms, Inc.; Mansfield, OH). So what the fuck do i do now?!?!?! I didnt think leaving it on the street is a prudent move, but i dont want to call the fuzz while i am shitfaced....
Thoughts, anyone?!?!?

I am not a gun person, but am functionally literate... The extra clip is full, but the clip in the pistol seems to have fired a couple of shots (not sure if recently). The barrel was plugged with clay from when it was chucked...

It may have been used in a crime |

I'd call the police. I think you did the right thing by getting it off the street though.
I'd keep it intact as I could and not touch it much. Evidence and all. I know nothing, and certainly wouldn't take anyone's word here as good legal advice, of course, insert standard disclaimer.

I would call the cops. I think they'd be more concerned about a discarded gun than they would about someone being drunk. At least I hope so!

If that gun was used in the commission of a crime and you are drunk and your prints are now on it, you could end up a suspect instead of a do-gooder.

worth the effort. Try smuggling in a Glock, Browning, H&K, Colt or anything halfway decent. A Stallard Arms is nothing more than a glorified Saturday Night Special. It was designed for people who wanted something cheap but wanted a 9mm instead of 32s, 22s, and 25s, that the rest of the SNS's are made in. Its made out of cheap castings and had crap for sites. It works and that is probably the only good thing once could say about it. Also the company went belly up in 1995.

I never owned one but I collect firearms and remember seeing them in the gun shops when they were new and handled a couple of them. Never in a million years own one because of reasons like that. If that is all you could afford then it would do alright but anyone with any firearms knowledge would never buy one especially if you have ever owned a top of the line pistol like a Colt Smith & Wesson, ect the difference in finish and feel is like night and day.

you would neither want to find it or win. Its bascially a Saturday Night Special made a little better than most but I sure as hell wouldn't want to own one. Like I said its the Yugo of pistols. It works and it wont blow up in your face and that is about all one can say about it.

As long as you were walking home, they won't care that you were drunk. This gun could be evidence in a very fresh case. (Or it could be someone's missing gun that they will be looking for in the morning. Either way, you want it out of your posession as fast as possible.)
