Amusing incident(s) involving a new Che T-shirt |
|
okay, I got a new Che Guevara T-shirt on ebay and wore it to dinner last night.
First comment... from an elderly gent in the parking lot... "you know, boy, that guy is a commie!" to which I responded... "No, he's dead"
Second comment.... from a very cute cashier "wow, I like that shirt"
Third comment ..... from a middle-aged apparently spanish gent with tears in his eyes... he was great, and so are you for carrying on his work.
Now, I am not used to this kind of shit... I am a pretty anonymoyus looking guy who just exists.'Too weird.l
anyone else have similar things happen?

1. I wear mine all the time. |

I geat only two responses. Latin heritage people, even the young ones (I'm 55 so young is 20's to me) Give me thumbs up, "great shirt" type reactions or I get clueless white guys who think it's ! 1. Jimmie Hendrix, 2-Bob Marley, or 3-Jim Morrison.
Have yet to encounter a "commie" reaction. Great response though, I'll keep it on hand.

I used to have one and it died and the last time I saw a cool one was down at some store at the beach. It a was a button down and down sorta Hawaiian shirt style with Che on it but they wanted 60 bucks for it. That was way too much.

15. Che T shirts very popular here |
|
... large city in SE Asia.
Saw another interesting one recently. On the front of the shirt was a picture of Bush. Below that in large cap letters the word "THINK" Just below that was an AK-47. Shirt was worn by a Westerner.

Haha, nice response. I don't have any shirts that would really make people react in any sort of way (except maybe the guy getting stabbed through the foot on my Mars Volta t-shirt).

DO you actually have a Mussolini t-shirt. Somehow in my sick sense of humor if you had one that would be very cool.

4. I have had stuff like that happen over the years with different types |
|
of clothing items and my glasses are a big hit too. Don't let it bother you. I guess my most hilarious even like that was a "Blues Brothers" t-shirt I used ot have on the front it had Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues dancing and on the back it had "We are on a mission from God." While sitting in the mall one time an old lady who ran the candy kiosk walked up to me and told me that she really liked what my shirt said and she thought it was so great that a young man would wear such a shirt. I just smiled and thanked her because I new she never saw the front of the shirt and I knew exactly was she was responding too.

9. I had an interesting reaction from a Cuban American |
|
"You know he was betrayed and killed by Castro..."
We had a friendly discussion about the Cuban revolution...the guy knew his shit.
The jury is still out on whether Castro witheld support for Che in Bolivia because of a personal vendetta as this guy thought.
But it was interesting - the guy was one of the few Cuban Dems I've met.

11. I've had one that says, "Sure, I'm a Marxist" |

There's a group portrait of three Marx Brothers and Karl. I've had people come up and say they remember seeing three of them on teevee, but not the fourth (Karl).
