I'm sick of the Billy Joel haters. I love his music.
My aunts + mom went to HS with him, too :)

18. Be prepared. Every thread like this |

eventually becomes a "Your Favorite Band Sucks" thread.
People just can't help themselves.

If he did something totally appalling, I want to know. If they just hate his music, well then, I can't help them there. It is "so" there loss!

Saw the Billy Joel musical this year and was pleasantly surprised. The lead singer was great and the dancing blew my mind.

I'm not a big dance fan. But the dancing in Movin' Out was amazing. So amazing they alternated groups to dance alternating shows. I was exhausted just watching them.
I was so impressed I took in a ballet that looked interesting. It was. Three parts Patsy Cline music, Rolling Stone music, and Celtic music.

Billy sticks out in my mind as someone who has the ability to write a tremendously good song and also write absolute shit that shouldn't see the light of day.
Love "The Stranger" album and most of his early work. Other stuff I wouldn't touch with a ten foot poll. I think "Big Shot" is one of the worst songs ever.
I've seen him in concert and he in entertaining. A friend of mine who works backstage at a big venue came to know Billy's pre-show ritual one day while working his show, which involved downing a fifth of vodka like a fiend.
