5. ah. The J-Bass!
I used to have a J-bass (I am a Bass player first) but I traded it for one of those Gibson Thunderbird basses, which I got sick of and sold. Now I just use a P-Bass and wish it was a J-bass

Do yourself a favor - even if you have to wait longer and save more money, DON'T buy an hecho en Mexico NAFTAcaster. Mine fell apart.

7. Nice!!!
I am in need of a new guitar myself, my Epiphone Les Paul is being held together with duct tape at this point lol. Use to have a couple of Fenders (Strat and Telecaster) even an Ibanez RX-7 but had to sell them off to help out my ex (back when she wasn't an ex). Man I miss all my old guitars and pedals :(

Reduced to a Big Muff, Small Stone, cheap wah wah, and a Digitech RP5

12. Totally!!
I've always been happy with mine. I think I'm going to have to try and re-wire it, it has a short somewhere. Really not looking forward to that, but I've had it going on 8 years now..still sporting the same old pickups and everything.

One time I tried to make it playable left handed so filed a little on the top of the neck so I could reverse the strings. Then when I figured that wasn't going to work strung it back to right handed. At first wasn't sure what damage I would of done but it was all cool.

Just something about the neck I love better than the Fenders I had too (I always felt more comfortable with it).

16. OMG
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 12:37 PM by malmapus
I forgot about how much heavier even the standard was to the Strat. Heh memories there when I was getting use to it, now its nothing after these years :)

EDIT: I do miss my "hay-day". Actually got a band going with my cousin (she has a nice small guitar collection of her own) "Muddy Paws". But yeah we would do alot of Smashing Pumpkins covers, and were pretty much your average total effects heavy alternative band. She freaking re-wired her telecaster and did something because it made this amazing sound afterwards, almost like a chorus effect and slightly distorted.

Now I just throw a Pumpkins or Alice in Chains CD on and jam along with.

10. A Fender with P-90s in it OUGHT to be worth having!
Them pickups will cry if you push 'em just right. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm! How close to a Thinline Tele is this beast?
