Great rant on single parents from another board, thought I'd share.

The local freeper posted some drivel from a 'newsletter he gets' about single parents, mostly about bad fathers, same old right wing blame liberals for everything crap. Anyway, here is the first response. It was so good, no need for me to respond. :) (btw, RWNs stand for Right Wing Nuts)



"Blaming single parent families on the left is ludicrous. I am a single father of 2 girls and never supported any policies that would leave children without fathers. The only policies that I see destroying the welfare of these children are coming from the right. Sending all their fathers to war and extending deployments, stop loss and thousands of fathers dead due to Bush and his policies, and it doesn't end there. The divorce rate in the military is skyrocketing and this can only be attributed to this administration, not the left. And even if the soldier does come home there is a 1/4 chance that he will have post military distress syndrome or permanently injured that doesn't just affect him but his entire family. My grandpa came home from the war and shot my grandma then himself. My grandma survived and raised 6 children and she did a damn good job of doing so.

And then the right will take away programs that help the youth, Where were your concerns when they started cutting things like headstart and other programs that affecting single parents, where was your concern when we decided that the families of the USA came in second to that of the Iraqis.

Since when do RWNS care about children who are left uninsured? Since when do the RWNS care about the inability for single parents to afford college for their kids? Since when do the RWNS care anything about the working and lower class of America? Since when did they start caring about America's youth?

So you can rant all you want about how the left is somehow playing a bigger part in the lowering of America's morale and ethics but you are just being a hypocrite and a liar. So go back to your Sesame street defunding party and STFU."

1. I was a single parent for almost 2 years...

IT WAS NO ONES FAULT BUT MINE (and my ex). We had 2 kids and you know what, it didnt work out. No we werent in the military, but damn, they have to place the blame on liberals about EVERYTHING.

I was the best damn parent I could be when I was single (and still am) and my kids are not BAD kids by anymeans and are well taken care of and LOVED.. even by their father. I live without so I can provide the best that I can for them.. if that means I cant do something, go somewhere, or whatever, thats fine.. as long as they have a roof over their head, are safe and loved thats all I really care about. They are raised with morals and respect of others.. not to place the blame and lie and steal their way through life.

What the hell are they smoking? They need to put the shit down and WAKE UP.

I hear it from my inlaws as well.. they told my husband on a nearly daily basis that he was going to hell because he had a kid out of wedlock and was a single father. They dont dare say a word to me like that..
