Songs that bring you back to a point in time
For some reason, these songs always bring me back to my Peace Corps days in Thailand, 92-95 (they pretty much were my soundtrack then.)

"The Weight" by the Band
"Come Monday" by Jimmy Buffett
"Wiser Time" by the Black Crowes
"Mango Song" by Phish

there are so many more....

what are yours?

2. Just wait to you are my age.
Oh top of my father being in the marketing of Pop music my mother played both Pop and Classical stuff at home, At camps we sang each night under the trees.Heck the Korean War broke out when we all were at a beach party and singing Good Night Irene. Now you can see what picture that puts into your mind. Even the smells of the ocean, fire and food is in that one.

4. And then there's Elivis '98 Classic...here's a snip of the lyrics:
(words & music by bill strange - scott davis)
Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine

Quiet thought come floating down
And settle softly to the ground
Like golden autumn leaves around my feet
I touched them and they burst apart with sweet memories,
Sweet memories

Of holding hands and red bouquets
And twilight trimmed in purple haze
And laughing eyes and simple ways
And quiet nights and gentle days with you

Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine,
Memories, memories, sweet memories

5. I heard the Grateful Dead cover "The Weight" at the Omni in Atlanta.
They were great! They rarely performed that song!

I love r.e.m., Nirvana, Beatles, The Allman Brothers, The Eagles and James Taylor.

6. Joy DIvision
She's Lost Control Again. It just was stuck in my head in the 80s. Reminds me of angst, generally.
