5. I used to have a neighbor with something like that.
The family across the street where I grew up in NJ had a teeny little cottage on the back of their property for "Grandma's house" and it was just adorable. Last time I visited, it was still there, although I don't know if anyone's living in it at present.

I'd be perfectly content in something like that with a little patch of garden around it.

WELL...I live with 3 other people, LOL, but man would I love a simple little getaway like that.

My house is kind of the same idea, but not so extreme. We have a 1200 square foot house on a big lot and I have no desire to "McMansion" it although that is the trend in So. CA, for sure! We cook and eat outside most of the time so don't mind the close quarters for the most part.
