Ever refused treatment because of drug testing policies? |
|
My husband and I were discussing this yesterday. I mentioned that every couple weeks, someone at work gets cuts badly but goes to great lengths to control the bleeding themselves through lots of bandaging, sometimes to the point of cutting off circulation. We have also had several people with muscle strain type injuries where the injured person continued working in pain or managed to find a way to leave early without mentioning the injury. Our company has a drug testing policy where if you are injured on the job enough to require medical treatment that you must submit to a drug test. Although I think that some of these people might be company warriors and not drug users, I suspect that some of these people might be trying to avoid the drug test. Interestingly, two people who I personally know are drug users have managed to get injured and readily gone in for treatment and have passed the test. Hmmm...

1. I would probably tend to avoid making a fuss... |

so I would try hard to control the bleeding myself until it became readily apparent that bigger steps are required.
