My 2nd Lounge post tonight...what r u driving? I bought a new car
Which damned near killed me lol, cuz I am sooo anti-credit lol! I bought my last car 11 years ago, a 94 Chevy Corsica. It was a good car. Never left me stranded and never needed any major work. My husband, who was a mechanic in a former life, has started to worry about it being on its last legs tho so we went car shopping. I bought a 2003 Hyundia Elantra. I LOVE this car! Our other car is a 94 T-Bird. I love this one too, and I'm sure we'll have it 30 yrs from now lol. It's had a whole lot of money throw at it in the last couple of years and mostly it's parked now, but it is such a joy to drive.

1. I bought a 2005 Elantra hatchback and love it!
I also own a maroon 92 Corsica with 35,000 miles on it and love it also. One heck of a car, especially for driving on snow and ice with it's ABS brake system.

4. Wow! That's like no miles on that Corsica lol!
Ours had 180k on it when we traded it this week. I test drove an 05 hatchback Elantra. Man, what an awesome car! I'm just too cheap to pay as much as they wanted lol. I do love the one the one I bought tho. ;)

6. I'm a car nut
I also own a 76 Vega with 85,000 miles on it. My husband has a 2000 Tacoma with 60,000 miles on it. I just, unfortunately, totaled a 1988 Chrysler New Yorker with 41,000 miles on it.

3. I have a 2002 Chevy S-10
that I bought last February. Like you I had an older car that I got a lot of good service out of, but it finally crapped out on me. It was going to cost $2000 to get it fixed and the vehicle was only worth about $500 in good condition. So I broke down and bought the S-10. I love it.

7. 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee (don't hit me!)
I know, I know...SUV. But we do live on a horse farm and need something to pull a horse trailer and bring home stall shavings in. It is a gas guzzler though (but definitely not the worst of SUVs) but I am getting very tired of paying $35 to fill up.

We also have a 2001 Hyundai Sonata and it's been a very good car. I also had a 1999 Nissan Altima before the Grand Cherokee and it was a GREAT car - never had a single problem with it in 6 years. The Sonata is almost ready to be traded in though, and we're just about settled on a Prius. Anyone know the waitlist time on those?

9. Oh hell
People out in the country often need something that has 4 wheel drive and a big motor. I won't hate you for that.

11. Believe me...we're out in the middle of the country lol
And we do use it for things other than running the kiddies to school and their soccer practice! Trust me, If I didn't need it for things around the horse farm, I definitely wouldn't have it.

8. Honda Civic - base model.
Been driving Civic's for 15 years. 1990 Civic went 340K when the trans blew up. You could still turn the key and it would purr like a kitten. Only put $1,500 or so of work into it during it's 9 years.
Got a 96 Civic w/ 240K now. Needs a second clutch now but otherwise it's good to go.
Honda Motor co. has more North American parts & labor in their vehicles than any other auto manufacturer. (NO. America includes Canada) - yes even more then GM, Ford, and Chrysler.
I am a Proud Honda Head. I've taken these cars where cars have NO business going and come out laughing.

10. 2001 Olds Alero Coupe
Required a lower intake manifold gasket replaced at 45,000 miles, but it was done free under the 60 month,60,000 mile warranty. If/when I get another car it'll either be a Hyundai or Toyota. Sorry GM, I got pissed that you wouldn't replace my windows that got all scratched up due to an improperly aligned mechanism that was mentioned in a TSB. But it is a joy to drive on the freeway and is even mildly sporty for a GM. Got it with the v6 and handling package. But Aleros aren't worth much more than a bucket of warm spit on the resale market. And they suck on side-impact and offset crash tests. I do have every single record on it though and am meticulous about oil changes and maintenance.

14. I drive a 1992 Acura Integra GS-R
It still runs very nice for having 215,000 miles. I mostly just have to replce little stuff from time to time like brake pads, hoses, etc. The engine & tranny on the car are bulletproof.

16. I have a 2002 Suzuki XL-7
For an SUV, it gets pretty good gas mileage. It is a 4x4, which is great for Indiana winters. It has 60,000 miles on it, and it runs like a dream! Now where is that wood to knock on? :D

19. 1995 Saturn.
Pretty basic car, but it gets good mileage, and because it's mostly plastic it doesn't rust.
