12. LOL don't be
A misspelling would definitely be a better guess in Freepland; the only reason I noticed is because he used the plural "work" instead of the singular "works", which didn't make sense after I (wrongly) read "emphasis" -- so I went back and re-read the word, and realized I had misread it. :)

To the tune of "House Of The Rising Sun" LOL!

It seems their party's gone insane...just look what they've become
Just like the Whigs they're going away...Dems watch they're own setting sun

They're putting down our soldiers...they help the enemy
Their treason won't get power back...the blind can even see

So, mothers, tell your children...that party's filled with rats
And when they're old enough to vote...there'll be no DemocRATS

(musical break)

So, mothers, tell your children...that this party's filled with rats
When it's time for choosing how to vote...there will be no more DemocRATS

With race and class and gender...that's how they play the game
If you've become successful, then...you are the one to blame

Yes, it seems their party's gone insane...just look what they've become
Just like the Whigs they're going away...Dems watch they're own setting sun

It is IV ..... and furthermore: the second phrase goes thus:

.... i .... III .... V ....................

There is no VII chord, but the vocal melody uses the minor leading tone as the dominant tone of the III chord for harmonization ....

35. You know, it's interesting...
I never really looked into this song.

I'd say it lingers between the am (i) and C major (III) tonalities. If you look at the progression in the first line, it's both of those "tonics" followed by both "subdominants" (the major IV is just color, I think, which is the reason you mistakenly notated it "iv" originally -- it would work fine that way too) -- since VI in a minor is IV in C major (F major).

The second line starts just like the first one, but then the abrupt E major for a moment resolves the ambiguity and seems to say "alright, it IS a minor after all". That's why this is the tensest moment in the verse.

Again, the VII would work too because that's V in C major, so then instead of the two tonics followed by the a minor dominant, you would have a minor followed by both C major and a minor dominants.

23. Check out this gem of a reply.
God will soon be sweeping a lot of rats into the sewer of destruction if they continue on the path of wickedness. Just got to be patient until the wheat (good) and the tares (evil) grow to full maturity. Then it is the end of the road for the wicked, and the beginning of God's eternal Kingdom on earth for His people.

Good will stomp evil in the final battle for who controls heaven and earth forever.

Psalm 37
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The LORD shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

36. Maybe Doug from Upland is not as successful as he claims.
Edited on Sun Jun-19-05 01:08 AM by countmyvote4real
He spends much of his lyrics on treasonous activities (bald face lies and typical freeper exaggeration) by the Dems and then modulates to conspicuous motives relating to race, class and gender issues. (Hello? Doug, we ARE the big tent party that can handle all of this diversity.) Most revealing, this is followed in good measure and more probably to the point:

“If you've become successful, then...you are the one to blame”

Everybody loves success. It’s the American dream. Likewise, Americans don’t like cheaters, swindlers and ill-gotten gain.

I suspect Dougie is late on his mortgage for that dream double-wide and needs to blame somebody besides Jesus or his own Republican party that sold him out years ago. His VHS copy of “Mandingo” has been played back so much that the resulting drop-outs no longer serve to get him off. He seems too selfish to tithe or contribute to charity or understand that his taxes pay for roads, infrastructure, military defense and a whole lot more. (BTW, 8 billion dollars of our taxes have gone missing in *’s Iraq debacle. Freep that, Doug from Upland.)

Too bad you're on the wrong side, ain't it, HKWASD? Shouldn't have cast your lot with the Price of Darkeness, eh? But I digress. Moving on...

Psalm 37
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

(Chorus halts momentarily while the slide projector advances)

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

(That slide projector clicks again)

3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

(And again...)

Wotta maroon. Is he trying to preach, or is he trying to bore FReepers to death? I can't decide. Bwahahahahahaaaaaa!!!
