1. Reminds me of a temp job I had once. |
|
I was stepping in for a woman who was going on vacation. She instructed me to put everything away and lock the desk at night, because items tended to disappear.
At the end of the first day, I locked the desk. The next day, one of the cow-orkers took me to task for leaving the stapler on top of the desk! Later that day, the woman who was now on vacation called me to remind me to lock the stapler up before I left. Just before quitting time, the cow-orker came over to remind me again to lock the stapler up.
It's a stapler, people!

6. I actually have not seen this! |

I'm going to have to get the DVD now. I went to imdb.com, and "the stapler" is mentioned, so I have to see it!

3. Staplers do disappear. |
|
I think it's alien abduction.
I temped in places like that too. It's mind boggling. Staplers cost between $3 and $15 dollars for the little office desktop model, but you'd think it was gold bullion.
Temping is an eye-opener, isn't it?

I was more concerned about locking up my work at the end of the day, since much of it was of a confidential nature. And I know how frustrating it is when items disappear from your desk, but I can't imagine calling the office while on vacation to remind a temp to lock my stapler!
Oh, and I've met some wacky, wacky folks while temping! I bet quite a few of us DUers have temped (even though we supposedly hate to work, haha). Temp stories would probably make an interesting thread.
