You know the cliche of those phones in the back of airline seats? How everyone pays $9 a minute to say "Guess where I'm calling from?"

I'm at the free internet kiosk at the airport... ooh, ah... got here far too early for my flight, so it's nice to while away the time doing something pointless and trying to touch-type on the world's worst keyboard. :)

I know this will break everyone's respective hearts, but I probably won't be posting much over the next week... hopefully I'll be having IRL fun intead.

Actually, some joker planned a conference in Florida during hurricane and humidity season... I'd rather be going to, oh, I don't know... maybe North Carolina... ;)

8. The weather is pretty nice in NE Florida today. Not too hot yet and sunny

with some clouds.

No hurricanes in the offing at the moment as far as I know.

So, are you lucky and gonna be in NE Florida, or are you going to hotter and more humid parts south?

7. Actually, Dad dropped me off at the airport.

Gave him his $1.00 gift... one of those car dashboard dustmops! It's actually pretty sweet... I have one I paid $10 for. It's not that I'm cheap. My sister and I went overboard for his birthday back in May and we told him it counted as his Father's Day gift too.

I'm at the glamourous Dayton International Airport. (Birthplace of aviation, despite what those wannabes in NC claim. ;)

As if it's not hot and sticky enough in Ohio, I'm going to swelter in Florida and hope there's no hurricanes. I was down here last September and had to do the evacuation bit, driving my local rental all the way back to Ohio. They wanted to charge me like an extra $600 for that, but I shamed them down to about $125.

I talked to my mom in Columbus recently, and their weather has been worse than ours for much of the past month!

I grew up in Columbus, and recall many a hot, sticky, humid night this time of year. The good thing about FL summers is that we're well equipped to deal with them! :hi:

Airports usually rob their captive consumers. Even hotspots are outrageous. Orlando, you say? I'll have to check that one out, next time I am there.

OH, on edit, just reread the post, and I picked up Dayton, not Orlando. I have never been to the Dayton Airport....Not on my circuit...tht is great they have free internet. Have fun....

I'm surrounded by poor bastards whose plane is stuck in Chicago because they can't get the engine started! I better get down to my gate and make sure my plane is on time!
