Sigh. Deadwood is over for the season. No more f***ing C***s***er. No more Swearingin, Calamity Jane, Bullock, Trixie, Tolliver, Alma Garret, Doc Cochran, Wu, E B Farnum.

Excuse me, while I cry bitter tears.

3. Don't forget Silas Adams, Dan and Johnnie
Or Charlie Utter and Joanie Stubbs. Hearst's geologist, Wolcott, is gone but he had the best line I have heard in years:

"I am a sinner who does not expect redemption, but I am not a government official."

Its gonna be a long year.

4. Final episode laughs
My partner and I were watching the last episode, and toward the end during the wedding festivities, when Chrlie Utter steps up next to Jane in her frock (a hoot seeing that all by itself), he says in a good imitation of Jane's voice, "Welcome the FUCK back!", and surenuff she says the same thing a moment later.

Is Deadwood the best thing HBO has ever done, or what? I think it's better than the Sopranos.

7. Didn't get into The Wire that much
What I saw was interesting, but in general it seemed like another crime series, like many others. Deadwood, despite being a "Western", is completely original. Working with actual historical figures increases my interest in it my a large factor, also.

6. It's like Shakespeare...
It really is, Swearingen can be so elequent. Some people get all boo-hoo about the cussing, but it's in context for the rough environment.

I'm looking forward to the return of The Sopranos, but sad that it will be the last season.

I like 6 Ft. Under a lot too. I like The Wire sometimes too.

So good to have entertainment on TV that doesn't insult your intelligence. My wife likes CSI, but I think it's written by 12 year old kids...they explain every line of the simplistic dialog, they employ the sappy "5-minute time waster" at the end, and isn't it great that no one in Miami complains that the cops drive Hummers? Talk about having to suspend your belief!

9. They are now saying that it may not be the last Sopranos season.
Lots of money in that franchise. I thought last season was a nice return after the previous two being less than great.

8. I'm going through fucking Deadwood withdrawal myself.
But I have the DVDs of the first fucking season and the second season on fucking Tivo to hold me over until the cocksuckers come back next year.
