1. OK....here's the thing: We just drove 6,300 miles over the past 5 weeks
And not ONE sign that said "See Rock City."

That shocked the hell out of me in TN especially.

2. Damn!
I lived in the shadow of Lookout Mountan when I was little, and those signs were everywhere. Haven't been to TN in a long time.

We brought our See Rock City birdhouse with us to Spain, where it hung on a tree in our front yard - and today, my parents have one in NC.

3. I was looking too
It was weird...like when the Burma Shave signs on the way to the Beach (near Myrtle) just vanished....and Mom and Dad said, "well...guess they are out of business...."

I have a serious problem I am trying to work out in my head right now.

I have a Drive In Ice Cream Cookie Dough thing (from the drive in near the University)....but, I also have a couple of shots of Jack.

Where do I start????

We just got off the train from Charlotte.

5. Burma Shave still exists
I own a shaving brush of their I bought last year at Walgreen's.

Go with the Jack. Not that I am biased. ;-)

8. It's a bizarro-land Burma Shave
Burma-Shave was invented as a "brushless" shaving cream. Many of their signs talked about old moldy shaving brushes and the like that you didn't need if you used Burma-Shave.

Now they sell shaving brushes and soap for them, and offer to let you "shave the way grandpa shaved."

For bonus points: explain this rhyme:

Free! Free!
A Trip to Mars
For 500
Empty Jars
Burma-Shave

6. Thanks!
Used to take trips from our house near Chattanooga, to my grandparents' place in Clarksville.

One of my first memories of TN was my granddad coming through the front door, saying "Let's go to Rock City!"
