1. 1-6 from the line in the 4th |
|
Duncan could have made the OT moot.
San Antonio doesn't deserve to win.

Especially on the Billups basket when he was knocked to the ground |
|
I was surprised when that wasn't called.
And good thing for Wallace the clock ran out before he tried to call a timeout when the Pistons had none to call.
That's a technical foul.

5. Oh yeah, leave that Horry guy alone |
|
No way he'll hit a 3-pointer!
I thought the Pistons were supposed to be a good defensive team.

And, sure enough, Horry was Rasheed Wallace's man. As a Trail Blazer fan, I probably didn't need to see that, I could have guessed.
And here's what will happen in Game 6: It will be a hard fought game for the first quarter and about four minutes into the second quarter. Detroit may even have the lead at that point. The Spurs will go in at halftime with a modest lead, and the commentators will all say that the Spurs should be ahead by more, intimating that Detroit will come back in the second half.
In the second half, Detroit will close the lead, maybe even take the lead themselves. Then San Antonio will go on a tear, 12-3 or 16-4. At that point, Rasheed Wallace will be involved on a close play and go off, and the Pistons will be done for. The fourth quarter will be a coronation formality.

18. I expect Rasheed to foul out in game 6 |
|
And one of the fouls will be a technical.
He has a history of hurting his team when it comes down to crunch time.

22. In all fairness to Rasheed |
|
He seems to have grown up a little bit in the last three years. Just before he left Portland, he finally seemed to have grasped the fact that a blown out-of-bounds call four minutes into the second quarter was not going to decide the game and didn't warrant one of his nuclear meltdowns. That's the kind of call that cost him a T so often and put him in jeopardy the rest of the game. He's got a big mouth, often profane, and usually loud, and the officials don't cotton to being called "motherfucker."
He's still volatile, but he's channeled that more into his game, which is the best way to show someone up. Not going to call a foul when I get hacked on a jumper? Then I'm taking it to hoop. Strong. There's also a time and a place to discuss a call with the officials. One of the best places is setting up for an in-bounds play or while the other team is shooting a free throw. I've seen guys like Tim Duncan and Shaquille O'Neal actually take a foul so that they can get some time on the lane to talk to the ref under the basket -- quietly, non-confrontationally, and away from the hurly-burly of the game. Rasheed would do well to learn this little trick.

19. A junk shot? Right... |

Wallace collapsed on Manu and gave Horry at least 15 feet of free space.
You don't give a clutch shooter, especially one of Horry's caliber (he's not called "Big Shot Bob" for nothing), all that room and expect to get away with it.

And is up to 4.3 APG in the playoffs.
But how do you let any guy take an uncontested 3 when you're up by two?

Because they already played them games, didn't they?
Tell you what, SA better hope they win game 6. I'm not sure I'd want to play a fired up, pissed off Detroit in a winner take all game.
But, good on you guys tonight. We should, and could, have had you asses tonight, but you guys came through.
My hats off to ya.

But if Detroit plays with the fire they have the last couple of games, you guys will be in trouble.
Go ahead and celebrate. I won't stop you, and the Spurs are a great team.
But I will book mark this thread. If we take game 6, be ready to eat a big helping of crow.

I never said it was going to be over on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, I specifically said they only needed one out of two games.
Detroit won't take two in a row on the road.
The Pistons didn't win two in a row on the road against the Western Conference all season.
As a matter of fact, the Pistons were under .500 against the Western Conference on the road last season.

14. Like I said, you might be right. |
|
Me, personally, I wouldn't put money on it.
I had a feeling SA might take this game. Of course, I hoped they wouldn't, but my gut said they would.
On the other hand, Detroit is much better than they showed in games 1 and 2. Just like SA is better than they showed in game 4.
After that kind of loss, however, SA better bring their "A" game, and I mean really bring it. Otherwise, game 6 will probably be a blowout.
That leaves just 1 game. And I wouldn't want to stand in Detroit's way with 1 game deciding it.
Kudo's to your Spurs, though. It was a great game.

The Pistons are a good team, and I am glad to finally see a game like we all expected from the beginning. These really are the two best teams this season. games 1-4 didn't show that for either, really. Kudos on a hard, great game, and for being such a gracious fan.
I am seeing a win on Tuesday for my Spurs, but I agree with you, I don't want to see a Game 7. Miami went on vacation when they thought they'd be coming to SA, I don't forget that.
:toast: Here's to a great rest of our series!

until about the 8 minute mark in the 4th. Then SA started trying to hurry and shoot 3 pointers to come back, and they do not seem to have a 3 point shooter except for Horry.

and bowen has been working so hard defensively, his shot has been off as of late...
let's not even discuss the Spurs free throw percentage, omg...terrible. If I were the coach, i'd have a clinic every day, an hour for each player.
